Our Direct Client in the Chicago area is looking for a Data Analyst to be a key member of the engineering team, helping build their  personalized healthcare and financial platform from the ground up!

Responsibilities. 

As a data analyst on the team, you will get to solve real world problems that affect all of us and in turn make a huge impact in the healthcare space.

You will help create a healthcare and financial wellness platform curated for each person via massive amounts of third party and internal data, and run through complex rules to deliver targeted, proactive health and financial wellness solutions, at scale. If you are passionate about building large scale data processing systems and are motivated to make an impact in crafting next-generation flawless (and automated) customer experiences in healthcare via analyzing batch and stream data, we would love to talk to you.

What You Might Do in Your First Year

  • Generate patterns of usage based around life events by extracting and transforming raw data from various databases into meaningful insights for product development and to continuously improve UI/UX and software design
  • Generate patterns of application usage and customer engagement with application
  • Partner with software & data engineers to determine the best ways to store various types of data sets or additional data sets to log to aid with analysis
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists to implement machine learning algorithms
  • Guide engineering and business teams to understand and consume the data sets to drive improved decision-making and analytical capabilities
  • Contribute to the engineering culture as a data driven organization

About You in the Role

  • Bachelors degree required, preferably in Engineering or Computer Science
  • Experience in data analytics, ideally at a healthcare or financial services organization, analyzing large volumes of data
  • Proficient in Python
  • Proficient in SQL
  • Experience in ETL processing with large data stores & using Airflow, Spark, NiFi
  • Experience in analyzing stream processing services such as Kafka, Kinesis, Apache Storm, or Spark Streaming
  • Expertise in working with data in varied forms, including relational, columnar, flattened, and dimensional data stores
  • Experience in data visualization using D3, R, Tableau & Excel
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across the engineering team and to communicate to all levels of management
